Yildiz Technical University (YTU), founded in 1911, is one of Turkey’s most prestigious and oldest technical universities. Initially established as the Kondüktör Mekteb-i Âlisi (School of Conductors) to meet the need for technical personnel in public works, it later evolved into the Yildiz Technical School of Engineering. In 1937, it was reorganized as the Istanbul Technical School, and in 1982, it gained university status under its current name.

YTU has a long-standing tradition of excellence in engineering and technical education and has expanded its academic portfolio to include science, arts, and social sciences. Today, the university has 11 faculties, 3 graduate institutes, and several vocational schools, offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.

Journal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies

Journal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies (JSCMT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal established in 2016 and supported by Yıldız Technical University. It publishes articles in English and follows a single-blind peer-review process, ensuring high-quality research dissemination. JSCMT releases four issues annually—March, June, September, and December—covering a wide range of article types, including research articles, review papers, case studies, technical notes, letters to the editor, invited papers, and book reviews. The journal is committed to promoting research in sustainable construction practices and is indexed in several databases, including Scopus, DOAJ, EBSCO, TR Dizin, and CrossRef. It does not charge publication fees, and all articles are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). The average time from submission to acceptance is approximately 8-12 weeks, followed by 4-6 weeks from acceptance to publication. JSCMT aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by encouraging interdisciplinary contributions that enhance sustainability in construction, focusing on key research areas such as sustainable materials, circular economy, energy efficiency, durability, digitalization, climate resilience, and environmental impact assessment..
