Aims & Scope

Seatific Journal aims to present academic data to all stakeholders in the field, taking into account current developments in all types of areas related to shipping and marine sciences such as environmental impacts, energy transition, and artificial intelligence. Seatific Journal strongly aims to only publish innovative and novel studies that will contribute significantly to advancements in the fields of marine engineering, marine science, and technology.

Topics

The Seatific Journal is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing scientific and engineering knowledge in the maritime and marine domains. We welcome original research, reviews, and applied studies covering various topics. To better guide our contributors and readers, the journal's focus areas are categorized into the following thematic groups:

  1. Ship Design and Performance: Covers core aspects of ship architecture and operational behavior, emphasizing resistance, seakeeping, stability, and maneuverability to enhance vessel efficiency and performance at sea.
  2. Marine Propulsion and Machinery: Focuses on propulsion systems, marine engines, onboard machinery, and control technologies, with attention to performance optimization, reliability, and integration of advanced systems.
  3. Energy and Power Systems: Includes studies on energy production, management, and efficiency in maritime settings, ranging from conventional marine power to renewable energy solutions and electrical equipment.
  4. Environmental Protection and Emissions: Addresses sustainable maritime practices through research on emissions control, noise reduction, and strategies to protect and preserve the marine environment.
  5. Offshore and Coastal Engineering: Covers the engineering of offshore platforms, coastal infrastructure, and shoreline development, including their design, construction, and interaction with marine conditions.
  6. Hydrodynamics and Fluid Mechanics: Focuses on fluid behavior around marine vessels and structures, including wave interaction, hydrodynamic forces, and performance analysis in various sea states.
  7. Materials and Structural Technology: Highlights innovations in marine materials and structural systems, with an emphasis on durability, corrosion resistance, strength, and suitability for maritime applications.
  8. Ports, Logistics, and Infrastructure: Encompasses operations, planning, and technology related to ports, logistics chains, and maritime infrastructure, supporting effective and sustainable marine transportation.
  9. Safety, Navigation, and Regulations: Covers navigation systems, safety procedures, maritime regulations, and risk management to ensure secure and compliant operations at sea.
  10. Human and Social Dimensions: Explores the interaction between maritime industries and society, including aquaculture, labor conditions, community impact, and the broader social context of marine activities.

Types of Articles

The journal welcomes submissions of papers covering:

  • Research Articles: Reflecting original experimental and/or theoretical research. A coherent treatment emphasizing new insight is expected rather than a simple accumulation of data.
  • Review Articles: Include authoritative reviews of recent advances in the basic and applied sciences with emphasis on the fundamental aspects of the subject. Manuscripts are generally longer than those found in other categories, but contributions dealing in part with original research are not excluded.
